Description
Taishū (大秋) – literally “Great Autumn” – is the undisputed monarch of Japanese persimmons. This ultra-premium, non-astringent giant was bred to push every limit: colossal size, explosive sweetness, and flawless eating quality from crisp to creamy-ripe.
Sourced exclusively from champion growers in Wakayama and Ehime, our Taishū persimmons are harvested from low-yield, old-vine orchards where every tree is pampered like royalty. The result? Fruits that regularly tip the scales at 400–600 g each, with some record specimens exceeding 700 g.
Why Taishū is in a league of its own:
- Monumental size and perfect symmetrical shape – the ultimate gift-box centerpiece
- Sugar levels routinely 20–24° Brix, delivering an intense, almost tropical honey-mango sweetness
- Thick, jewel-like flesh that turns silky and custard-like at full maturity
- Completely non-astringent at every stage – enjoy crisp like an apple or soft like jam
- Deep, glowing reddish-orange skin with a luxurious glossy finish
